UN Committee on Elimination of Discrimination against Women publishes findings on The Gambia, Senegal, Namibia and others, July 2015

The UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) has published its findings on the situation of women’s rights in The Gambia, Senegal, Namibia, Spain, Viet Nam, Bolivia, Croatia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

This ensued from the 61st Session of the Committee that ran from 6 to 24 July 2015 in Geneva (Switzerland), during which the Committee’s 23 international experts examined reports from the above-mentioned States.

The concluding observations highlight positive aspects of the implementation of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women by States, the main areas of concern, as well as the Committee’s recommendations for action.
