Amie brings extensive expertise in financial management, strategic planning, and organizational leadership. She holds an MSc in International Accounting and Finance from Liverpool John Moores University.

Amie currently serves a commissioner at the State-Owned Enterprise Commission, The Gambia providing governance and financial oversight to State-Owned Enterprises with a view to transforming them into viable public enterprises. She is the Board Chair of African Network for Extra Judicial Killings and Enforced Disappearances (ANEKED), one of the leading civil society organisations of victims of former Gambian President Yaya Jammeh. She is also a Board Member and Treasurer of Microsoleil, a charitable organisation that empowers smallholder farmers in Africa to thrive in challenging climates through sustainable agricultural practices by giving support to low-income farmers especially women.

Prior to joining IHRDA, she spent close to two decades at the Gambia Civil Aviation Authority, rising to the position of Director of Internal Audit. During that period, she served in various committees including the Annual Budget Committee, Contract Committee, Finance Committee and Chaired both the Loans and Debts Recovery Committees.
