Abdulmalik is a Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. He holds an MSc in International Human Rights Law from the University of Oxford, an LLM from the Centre for Human Rights, University of Pretoria, an LLB from Bayero University Kano, Nigeria and a BL from the Nigerian Law School.
He previously taught law at the Prince Abubakar Audu University, Kogi State, Nigeria, and has experience in criminal and human rights litigation having worked with M.S. Inuwa & Associates, Lokoja, Nigeria.
Abdulmalik also worked as a Legal Fellow at the Institute of Human Rights and Development in Africa in 2022, an intern at the Network of Public Interest Lawyers (NETPIL) at Makerere University in Uganda, an Associate at the Nigerian law firms of Atalanta Partners (Abuja) and T.S Olaosebikan & Co. (Niger), and as a Pupil State Counsel at the Ministry of Justice, Jigawa State, Nigeria.
