Banjul – Last week, on 12 and 13 March, 2015, IHRDA received two appointments, one within the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights (ACmHPR), and the other in the Coalition for an Effective African Court, respectively.
Director of Programs for IHRDA, Mr. Gaye Sowe, was appointed Expert Member of the African Commission’s Working Group on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, while at the same time the IHRDA was elected as Focal Point for National Human Rights Institutions at the General Assembly of the Coalition for an Effective African Court that was held in Arusha, Tanzania.
IHRDA was represented at the Tanzania meeting by its Anglophone Legal Officer, Oludayo Fagbemi.
